This is an annual event happening in Guruvayoor temple, one of famous South Indian temple. The name Edatharikathu Kavu has come on account of its proximity to the main deity of the temple. During this day natives keep their offerings of rice, turmeric powder and kumkum to the goddess. The oracle takes the form of the goddess and walks past by these offerings and start pouring these onto him and throws the remains to the devotees as part of the ritual. After this is over, the devotees rush to collect the remains of the day.
